The Book of the Holy Fool

0. Behold! After Ra-Hoor-Khuit hath taken His seat in the East, crushing an universe in His left hand, the Serpent Hadit drooped His head and shot forth His venom upon the earth. The twenty six letters of the English Alphabet emerged thence unscathed from the black poison, mingled with the red blood which had pooled there upon the shards of stone, engraving them as it were like runes with a mighty pen of flaming fire.

1. A final twenty-seventh arose, whose numbers are thirty-seven & thirty squared; being of Tzaddi and the circle squared. And its face bore the likeness of the Ruby Rose and the Gold Cross, of Ab Ra - the Heart of the Sun. This implanted Cross of Light is seen of the seer to turneth as the wheel turneth upon the axle, folding itself into the Continuous Cube of Infinite Space and Infinite Stars, the container of creation and the harmony of the twenty six letters of the English Alphabet. And the Word of the Cube is AUM.

2. Then the Lord of the Aeon, Blessed be He, called unto the letters, saying "Through thee will I form my Word, and upon the mere utterance of my Word shall I create a Universe!" The new symbols of the English Alphabet then clustered around the Hawk-headed Lord, exalting Him in a circular round dance; and one after another each one spake and entreated "Create your Universe through me!"

3. After listening to the letters, cursing each claim of Because in turn, the Crowned and Conquering Child turned to the letter B, the Magus, and bade him to plead his case. And the letter B saith "O Lord of the World! May it be your Will to create your Universe through me, since the few & secret give praise daily unto thee through me. As it is said, 'Blessed be the Lord - One, Child, Aeon!'"

4. The Holy One, Blessed be He, was very pleased by such a singular devotion and granted the Magus his petition, saying "Blessed be he that comes in the name of Ra-Harahkty. I shall thereby create the Universe through the letter B; as it is written in the old book, 'Bereshith' - In the Beginning was created Heaven and Earth! So mote it Be!"

5. But one letter had remained silent, devoted utterly unto Nuit and Her secret key of the law, the modest letter A - the Fool who cleaveth unto Nothing. The Lord of Silence, called of Hadith Heru-pa-kraath, rewarded the letter A for its humility, giving it first place in the Book of Thoth, and first place in the decalogue of infinite numbers; for the new beginning is forbidden to all, save those who hath achieved Nothing. In this didst the Fool rejoiceth, crying "IAO! I Am One - & None!"

6. And the Lord Initiating didst honor the Holy Fool, and gaveth the letter A both the first and the last place in His eleven-fold Word which Initiateth the New Aeon, yea, the Word which Initiateth the New Aeon. ABRAHADABRA!
